MEDIA RELEASE FROM SCOPE MEDIA, WANAKA
18 November 2019. For immediate release
This year’s Wanaka A&P Show ‘Call Me Local’ campaign has been acknowledged in three categories at the prestigious New Zealand Communications Council PREScom Awards.
Wanaka-based PR, communications and digital marketing agency Scope Media has been named as a finalist in the Best Integrated Campaign, Best Media Relations and Best Strategic Thinking categories in ‘The Pressies’, for its work on the Show’s popular Call Me Local promotion.
The Pressies are an annual awards programme recognising NZ’s most impressive PR, experiential and social media campaigns.
Call Me Local was a three-month campaign in which the Wanaka A&P Show provided a platform for discussion around what it means to be a ‘local’ – reinforcing a sense of community and being the instigators of a feel-good community discussion. The Show’s main message for Wanaka was ‘It’s about what you do here, not how long you’ve been here. The people you’ve met, the places you’ve been and the community you’ve supported’
“This campaign took a traditional Wanaka institution to lead a conversation about what it means to be a ‘local’ in a cheeky, fun and engaging way, driving widespread brand awareness across traditional media and social media while improving brand health at the same time,” Scope Media managing director Celia Crosbie says.
“We are thrilled to make the finals in The Pressies again. We’re up against some pretty incredible brands and some awesome agencies. It’s nice to be acknowledged and in the running with NZ’s best,” Crosbie adds.
“We are especially pleased for the Wanaka A&P Show too – they fully embraced the campaign and have been fantastic to work with. We’re also excited to be able to launch their new campaign for the 2020 Wanaka A&P Show very soon.”
Winners will be announced in Auckland at a ceremony on November 26.
